Tea is cold/Kid is cute

I woke up early this morning, before everyone else. I had this great idea that I could do the laundry, do yoga, run lines for my play, have a cup of tea, and take a shower before anyone else woke up.

I turned on the kettle and took out my script.
I checked my phone to see if anything urgent needed my urgent attention. It didn’t.
I played with my phone for another 10 minutes.
The kettle whistled.
I turned it off and unrolled my yoga mat.
Wanting some ocean breeze while I saluted the sun, I tried to open the sliding door.
It was stuck, so I went in search of wd-40.
I couldn’t find any, so I emptied the wash from last night into the dryer.
I turned the kettle back on.
The yoga mat still lay in the sun.
The kettle whistled.
I made some tea.
I emptied the dishwasher while I waited for it to steep.
“It’s nice to have a dishwasher,” I thought. I stacked the dishes the dishwasher didn’t wash in the sink.
I couldn’t decide between yoga and the script.

“Mommy,” came C’s sweet little voice from the hallway, “Mommy, I had a dream about riding my bike around our house but there were rocks in the way so I used my blasters to leap over them, then bazood them.”

We did yoga together.
I tried to work on lines while C ate breakfast and watched Lunar Jim.
It was not super possible.

I went for my tea. It is cold. But my kid is cute.
